GP KIDS

While we miss seeing your kiddos in person, we are praying they stay safe and healthy during this time. It is important that they keep routines and still have opportunities to learn. We will post links to our weekly lessons and videos and encourage families to spend time together learning about what God has in store for them! Let Pastor Kristen (Kricket) know if you have any questions or if our team can be of any assistance during this time! You can email her at kristen@gracepointchurch.tv.

ELEMENTARY LESSON - 3/29/20

FORGIVENESS: Deciding that someone who has wronged you doesn’t have to pay.

As we make our way through the Bible together, we’re taking a look at the books in the New Testament that describe what Jesus did and said when He was here on earth. When Jesus began teaching and performing miracles, crowds of people followed Him wherever He went.

READ THIS: Father and Older Brother | Luke 15:21-32

-------

The older brother in our Bible story today was sour! He was bitter and angry, and because of that, he learned that when you don’t forgive, you miss out. What did he miss out on? He missed out on so much more than a party. He missed a chance to have a relationship with his brother and to share something special with his dad.

REMEMBER THIS: Colossians 3:13, NIrV

-------

“Put up with one another. Forgive one another if you are holding something against someone. Forgive, just as the Lord forgave you.” Colossians 3:13, NIrV

-------

DO THIS: AT HOME ACTIVITY

-------

It’s true that forgiveness is hard. But forgiving someone isn’t just about them, it’s about you, too! When you forgive, you can have peace. Forgiveness sets both you and the other person free. Are you missing out on something right now that you could change through forgiveness? Pray that God would show you any place in your life where you’re holding onto anger and help you forgive.

“’Come and follow me,’ Jesus said.” Matthew 4:19 NIrV

SAY THIS:

Who can you follow? I can follow Jesus!

DO THIS:

Cuddle with your child this month and pray, “Dear God, we want to follow Jesus and love people the way He loves us, but sometimes it’s hard. Sometimes we don’t want to share or be kind or forgive. Please help us love people like Jesus, even when we don’t feel like it. We really do want to follow Jesus. We love You, God. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

BASIC TRUTH: JESUS WANTS TO BE MY FRIEND FOREVER!
